PowerChina Nuclear Engineering Co., Ltd.: Coal Conveying System Fully Connected for Datang Douhe CHP Project
Recently, for the Datang International Douhe CHP project undertaken by PowerChina Nuclear Engineering Co., Ltd., with the completion of the upper semicircle concrete pour for Section E of the C2 corridor, the coal conveying system achieved full-line connection and officially entered the overall equipment commissioning stage, laying a solid foundation for on-schedule coal delivery by train and subsequent environmentally friendly and economical operation.
The project is a key “14th Five-Year Plan” initiative in Tangshan, Hebei. It is a 2×660 MW coal-fired combined heat and power capacity replacement project, with flue gas treatment facilities built simultaneously. The coal conveying system uses a 3,941-meter corridor to connect the 26-meter-deep underground car dumper chamber to the 59-meter-above-ground side coal bunker, linking 23 buildings. Located close to the Douhe Reservoir, the deep foundation pit construction for the car dumper chamber is highly challenging. The project team overcame difficulties such as a cramped site, abundant groundwater, and a compressed schedule, achieving corridor connection by the end of June.
After completion, the project is expected to generate 5.9 billion kWh of electricity annually, with maximum heating coverage of 28 million square meters. It will support Hebei’s development into a strong energy province and Tangshan’s green transformation, easing winter heating pressure. The team will continue to accelerate follow-up work and contribute to energy development.
